MBN’s local Iraqi television, radio and digital outlets reach more than a third of the country each week. They provide Iraqis with news and information regarding local matters  that is objective and balanced. These outlets cover stories across political and economic lines, allowing the networks to connect people and change lives.

In one instance, Radio Sawa Iraq’s What’s Your Opinion call-in show hosted the Iraqi Minister of Work and Welfare on the program. The program received many calls from people with disabilities who articulated their troubled experiences on the air. One particular call concerned three blind brothers and their ill mother who had stopped receiving benefits. Two days later, the same person called back to inform the host and listeners that the Ministry of Work and Welfare had checked on the family the following day and begun providing care for the brothers and their mother.

The Raise Your Voice website reported on the fears of residents who voiced their concerns about the return of ISIS to the Salahudin province as security in the area became more lax. Following the article, the Iraqi government tightened security in the province and launched military operations to arrest suspected ISIS militants. In another post, Raise Your Voice published a video of a soldier wounded in battle pleading for help from government officials. Soon afterwards, the Iraqi Ministry of Health asked Raise Your Voice for the soldier’s contact information so that so they could get in touch him and offer him aid.

Alhurra-Iraq’s daily newscast profiled an Iraqi woman who had lost her son during the Fallujah battle two years ago. She discussed how she never received his pension and had to start selling empty soda bottles in order to survive and care for her daughter. Following the story, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office sent a special envoy who meet with her and provided her with the benefits her son had earned.
